The life-changing work of the Cowboys Community Foundation is set to benefit from a National Rugby League first, as the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys team up with Kenilworth Dairies to launch Cowboys Milk, the NRL’s first officially licensed milk.
A percentage of milk sales will be donated to the Cowboys Community Foundation after Cowboys Milk hits shelves in select Coles and Coles Express stores in North Queensland from Port Douglas to Mackay this week.
The first-of-its-kind deal will see the club’s iconic logo appear on two-litre full cream and lite bottles of Cowboys Milk, with customers contributing to the education outcomes of more than 100 Indigenous students living at NRL Cowboys House through their purchases.
Cowboys Community Foundation Director Fiona Pelling said the sale of Cowboys Milk will directly contribute to empowering House students to become future leaders in their communities.
“Since opening in 2017, NRL Cowboys House has become one of the leading Indigenous boarding facilities in the country, giving hundreds of students access to quality education and support to achieve their academic and career goals,” she said.
“With the support of Kenilworth Dairies, we can continue to create life-changing opportunities for some of North Queensland’s most geographically and educationally disadvantaged teens.
“Through the Cowboys Milk initiative, the Cowboys Community Foundation will be able to continue our important work and raise awareness for our programs.”
Managing Director of Kenilworth Dairies, John Cochrane said it “means the world to him” to be able to release a product that will positively impact youth in the community.
“Access to quality education and a reliable support network is an integral part of the growth and development of any student, regardless of their individual circumstances,” he said.
“The Cowboys Community Foundation already does amazing work, and I am hoping that this partnership will enable them to expand their efforts.”
