PHOTOS: A day on the greens for charity
A day on the greens for the Cowboys Community Foundation has raised valuable funds for NRL Cowboys House, thanks to the generosity of a dedicated contingent of teams, sponsors and donors.
The Foundation’s third annual charity golf day, presented by Telstra, was held last week at Rowes Bay Golf Club with the Lazy Bundy Bears taking home the perpetual trophy, while the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys coaching team finished as runners-up.
The event was packed with fun and novelty activities, and while the Pickles Hole in One $25,000 Challenge didn’t go off, players took on the 18-hole Ambrose with energy and enthusiasm, working up an appetite for a delicious BBQ lunch provided by NRL Cowboys House.
With clubhouse formalities hosted by former Cowboy Ray Thompson, teams heard from Cowboys coach Todd Payten and life member Johnathan Thurston during an entertaining afternoon of prize draws and presentations.
Thank you to everyone involved in the day!
