A partnership celebrating equality through reconciliation will connect Downer Group and NRL Cowboys House in supporting Indigenous students to thrive and succeed during their high school years.
Downer Group, a leading provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand, has established a naming partnership with NRL Cowboys House Boys Campus as part of their mission to partner with Indigenous charities that align with their purpose and pillars, including their mantra, Relationships Creating Success.
Downer Group will be recognised as an official partner of NRL Cowboys House, demonstrating the connection between the goals of the House and Downer Group’s employment vision for Indigenous youth.
Rebecca Stevenson, Manager Diversity & Inclusion, Downer Group said: “Downer Group is committed to ensuring a culture of inclusion and belonging for all employees and is proud of being an organisation that demonstrates leadership and respects Indigenous communities right across Australia.”
“This partnership will ensure we continue to make a difference to the lives of Indigenous people in the communities we operate in.
“Our vision for reconciliation is one where all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are treated equally in all relationships and their cultures and histories are celebrated and respected.
“As a large organisation, we can have a substantial impact on Indigenous communities and Indigenous peoples’ lives and we are committed to building more relationships that help create success for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
“We are proud to achieve these goals through our support of NRL Cowboys House,” she said.
Downer Group have simultaneously announced a partnership with Stars Foundation, supporting Indigenous girls and young women to attend and remain engaged at school to complete Year 12 and move into full-time work or further study.
Cowboys Community Foundation Director Fiona Pelling said the partnership will support the House’s vision for ensuring every student graduates to gainful employment or further education.
“We’re really excited to have Downer Group join us as a partner of NRL Cowboys House,” she said.
“We recognise their commitment to reconciliation and welcome their support on our students’ journey to success through education and employment.”
