Sun smart with Bunzl Safety & TCC
Staying sun smart and hydrated in the North Queensland heat will be a breeze for NRL Cowboys House students with a generous donation from Bunzl Safety and the Townsville City Council.
Personal protective equipment company and Council supplier Bunzl Safety today delivered hats and hydration packs valued at around $4,000 to the House, gratefully received by General Manager Rochelle Jones and House career transitions officer Antonio Winterstein.
Bunzl Safety is donating five per cent of the profit it makes from its contract with Townsville City Council to NRL Cowboys House in the form of PPE, much to the delight of House students and staff.
“We’re very excited to be nominated to receive Bunzl Safety’s donation and for the House to be front of mind for such a great initiative,” Ms Jones said.
“We’ll be using our new gear as rewards for our students, who will then be the envy of their peers as they go about their sporting and outdoor activities in their kit during term and back in their community.
“Thank you to Bunzl Safety and Townsville City Council for their generosity.”
Acting Mayor Les Walker said it was great to be able to support Bunzl Safety and their contribution to the community.
“Council is very committed to engaging with Indigenous businesses, and to be able to support a business that wants to give back to the local Indigenous community is excellent,” Cr Walker said.
“This five per cent commitment to NRL Cowboys House is a great step towards building stronger relationships between Indigenous businesses and the local Indigenous community.”
