New skills outside comfort zone
Building new teams and trying different things were the order of the day for our NRL Cowboys House girls on their first overnight camp in the 151 Cadet Unit.
21 students spent the weekend at Mount Stuart in Townsville, and despite ‘roughing it’ without their creature comforts, they had fun!
Proud House parent Julie Frazier said many of the activities focused on the girls helping each other.
“The girls were put in groups outside of the friendships they’ve formed at the House and all worked well together,” Julie said.
“There’s no doubt they have learnt new skills they can use when they return to their communities.
“Watching them pitch in to put up their hoochies and make up places to sleep was an amazing sight to see and very positive.”
Well done, cadets!
