Boys take a break on Maggie

By Stuart Ward, Head of Boarding, NRL Cowboys House – Boys Campus

Well, it’s just over the halfway stage for Term 2, and the boys have been super busy with homework, footy, outrigging, basketball, the gym and the Castle Hill climb at 5.30am!

So what better way to spend a Sunday than with a trip to Magnetic Island?

The boys had a lovely walk from Nelly Bay to the stunning Picnic Bay where they relaxed on the beach, swam and showed off their diving skills off the pier, rounded off by pizza back at the House!

I am always amazed and super proud of their energy, great manners and enthusiasm.

I’m sure all parents and guardians will love hearing their stories when they return home for their holidays. The staff and I will miss them dearly!

Thanks to Sealink Queensland for their support in making this great day happen.

NRL Cowboys House – Boys Campus is a boarding facility and ‘home away from home’ for 54 young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men in 2019.
